This year’s ULTRA EUROPE Aftermovie takes viewers on a personal journey that grows into a collective experience of a musical community. The story begins far from the stage, in the silence of nature, where the main protagonist symbolically begins her entry into the ULTRA Europe world. The moment she steps onto the festival grounds, her inner narrative transforms into a shared experience of tens of thousands of Ultranauts. The camera also captures Split from the perspective of the Ultranauts, who are just discovering the combination of historical depth, tradition and a lively urban rhythm that leads to the Park Mladeži.
More than 80 million views of the films so far clearly show that Croatia is not just another location on the map in the eyes of the world, but a place that is lived and felt. Twelve years ago, this authenticity also attracted the ULTRA Europe festival, a global brand that found a home in Croatia, where it could grow and develop, intertwined with the culture of the host country and city. Since then, the festival has not only been an event on the calendar, but an important part of the identity of the host. It has fit into the rhythm of the country, become part of its tradition and contributed to the creation of a new musical era. Regardless of the time and year, one thing remains unchanged: ULTRA Europe will continue to create moments that connect people, emotions and music, and proudly spread the image of Croatia as a place that inspires millions around the world.

The filming and production is once again being handled by the world-renowned Final Kid Films team, and the project, worth more than 300,000 euros, is this year based on a clearly defined conceptual and visual direction. Director Charly Friedrichs particularly emphasized that ULTRA Europe is a unique creative challenge precisely because of its multidimensional character. Rarely does a project simultaneously carry so many layers – historical depth, natural beauty, the musical energy of the festival as a global brand, and the emotional charge of the audience that turns every frame into a story in itself. It is precisely this combination, as Friedrichs claims, that is the greatest asset of this festival and allows it to create a narrative that is not just recorded entertainment, but a cinematic experience that combines spectacle, identity and a sense of belonging.

This year, he particularly emphasized the importance of discovering locations like Cetina Eye and Klis, places that, with their power and symbolism, further enrich the story of ULTRA as a festival that lives in the intertwining of the past, landscape, and contemporary rhythm. The creative framework is built on the idea of the ULTRA Europe festival as an experience that connects two time axes, Split as a historical city whose identity strength stretches back centuries and the festival as an experiential phenomenon of today that shapes its contemporary rhythm. Aerial shots of the panorama of Split serve as the foundation of the narrative structure, a motif of past centuries that sets the emotional tone, reveals the context and evokes its cultural depth. They are contrasted by the energetic dynamics of the festival that takes on the role of the engine of the story and through editing and rhythm builds a progression from personal to collective experience. In this framework, the dragon animation functions as a conceptual bridge that serves not only for aesthetic appeal, but also as a thoughtfully integrated link to the globally recognizable film identity of Split.

The new edition of the ULTRA Europe festival will take place from July 10th to 12th in Split. For those who want to secure their tickets in time, three-day Early Bird tickets for the Split part of the festival at a price of 120 euros are available in a limited number and period.
