This weekend, Zagreb’s Branimir Market will take on a different rhythm as Weekendica arrives for its first edition on September 26 and 27. The new concept brings together music, food, local vendors, workshops, vintage shopping and art, turning the market into a relaxed meeting point for the weekend.
Rather than creating a separate festival space, Weekendica is designed around the market itself, with DJs playing alongside existing vendors and a programme that mixes electronic, funk and hip-hop sounds with food and community-focused activities. The lineup includes Nebuloz, Koolade, phillipe, Glazbena Kuhinja, Frühstuck DJs, Marcela, and others, while also organizing open decks showcase and inviting radio Student DJs.
Food will be another central part of the weekend, with Štimung taking over the culinary side and working with seasonal, local ingredients. Visitors can also expect a flea market, plant-related activities, workshops and an art installation by Ana Kovačić.
Weekendica arrives at a particularly interesting moment for Branimir Market, a long-standing Zagreb landmark that has faced declining activity in recent years. The city is also preparing plans for its future reconstruction, making initiatives such as this an opportunity to reconnect the market with a broader urban audience.
