Vis Island, known for its extraordinary beaches, clear waters, and rich history will once again host the music and art Pachakutiq Festival, from September 5th to 7th, on the stunning Kamenice Beach. One of the funders Borna Ocasic, also known as DJ Occko, shared with us that after a successful first year edition the festival built up a comfortable space and a strong supportive community. This year they expect the even higher levels of energy and their community to expand further.
Named after the word “Pachakutiq,” meaning “he who shakes the earth“, the festival promotes unity and showcases underground music, floating away from the everyday commercial sounds as said by Borna. The festival brings together a diverse lineup of international DJs and local performers/ artists.
This years headliners are well known Croatian DJ Jock, Ukrainian DJ Kirill Kirik, and Len Lewis an old-school OG from the UK. Followed by Ani, Beepolar, Brale, Chuby, Bronski b2b Herya, Dans Incomod, Flora b2b Lija, Looka b2b Mario Daić, Madezh, Occko, Dayes b2b W.Wida, Tyson and Zookey.
One of the standout features of Pachakutiq is its commitment to environmental conservation. When asked why they choose Gorilla as their symbol Borna said: “We are all connected by our love for animals and nature, and wanted to give something back to them. Gorilla is a perfect mascot with its fierce energy and warm heart and for us symbol of the unstoppable force born from love, art and music coming all together.” Same as last year, ten percent of the ticket sales will be donated to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Found, which supports the preservation of endangered gorilla species, and fights against poaching and habitat destruction.
Tickets for the Pachakutiq Festival are available in various packages to suit different preferences and budgets, ranging from daily passes to full festival experiences. They are still available at Entrio.hr. For more information about the festival visit their official website.
