On April 5th, the second edition of a conference dedicated to the science of psychedelics will take place. The conference will be organized by the Nepopularna Psihologija [eng. unpopular psychology] team, a project aimed at popularizing psychology and related sciences.
The conference will take place at the WESPA premises, Zavrtnica 17 in Zagreb. Talks will be held on two stages, featuring clinicians, psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, therapists, and researchers. The program will be conducted in both Croatian and English, and attendees can follow the conference live or online.
„We organized the conference with the aim to raise awareness on psychedelics research, possible practical uses of psychedelics in medicinal and therapeutic purposes, and perception of psychedelics in this region. At the same time, our intention with this conference is to start a dialogue among experts in different fields and in general public on a topic that is often a subject of taboo, myths and stigma.“ – they announced on their official website.
Driven by research showing how certain psychoactive substances can be used to treat mental illnesses, which have been marginalized due to the stigmatization and criminalization of these substances, the conference will discuss topics that are highly popular and affect Croatian society and the scientific community.
„The conference on psychedelics is intended for all interested participants who would like to know more about psychedelics, their potential in medicinal purposes, scientific research and personal growth, as well as for those who themselves are researching psychedelics. This includes scientists, physicians, therapists, psychologists, activists, and a general public interested in learning more about psychedelics.“, they stated.
