Filip, also known as Simple Domain, presents his guestmix for INSITE today. Originally from Požega, he has spent most of his life in Zagreb, where he is currently based. A DJ and producer, Filip holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and describes himself as a “classic Gemini, full of curiosity.”
His connection with music began at the age of seven when he enrolled in guitar classes at a music school. Since then, he has played bass in a band and trumpet in a brass ensemble. He also practiced hip hop and breakdance. In his twenties, he turned to DJing and music production as a hobby to stay connected to music.
During his high school years, he was influenced by the rap scene—artists like Ice Cube—and the local trash pop scene, including acts like Colonia. Today, he draws inspiration from artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Amelie Lens, Charlotte De Witte, Boris Brejcha, and Keinemusik. Among local DJs and producers, he highlights DJ Jock and Insolate.
He prefers not to categorize artists by genre, believing each one has a unique message to share with their audience. However, he says he is most drawn to ACID Techno and Trance. His DJ experience so far includes performing in Zagreb clubs like Aquarius and Katran, and he dreams of one day playing at festivals.

INSITE: If you could have a drink with any DJ/producer, who would it be?
SIMPLE DOMAIN: It would definitely be Paul Kalkbrenner. One of the many reasons is that he’s also a Gemini, so I can really relate to the emotions he expresses through his music.
