DJ Holy K8, born Katarina Leko, has been active in the electronic music scene for nearly two decades. She began her DJ journey during the pandemic, attending her first DJ workshop in Zagreb, which marked a more focused step into selection and mixing.

From the very beginning, she has developed a distinctive approach that avoids strict genre limitations. Her sets explore combinations of hard tech and Balkan tech, often blending seemingly contrasting elements. Her style is built on energy, dynamics, and spontaneity, with sets designed to evolve gradually – moving from groove and funk-driven openings toward more progressive and harder electronic forms.
She started performing at private events, with a significant milestone being her residency at Beach Bar K2 in Viganj, where she played for two consecutive summer seasons. Audiences have also heard her at private après-ski events in Austria, at Plant Market in Zagreb, and in several wine bars. Most recently, she performed at Sljeme for the snowboard club Jeti and their official afterparty.

Holy K8 does not confine herself to a single genre – her selection spans soul, R&B, minimal, progressive, and hard tech, depending on the venue and the crowd. Her focus lies in building atmosphere and gradually elevating the intensity of the night, often incorporating unexpected mashups that further highlight her eclectic signature.
Alongside DJing, she is also active in the wine industry, hosting wine tasting workshops. She expanded this concept through Bubble Jam Sessions, an event format that combines sparkling wine tastings with DJ sets in a relaxed, social setting.
Currently, she is working on her own music production and plans to increasingly incorporate original tracks into her future sets.

INSITE: If you could have a drink with any DJ/producer, who would it be?
HOLY K8: Fatboy Slim. Not just because he’s a master at creating unreal atmosphere with dance electronic classics, but because of who he is beyond the decks. He actively uses music through workshops and projects to help people deal with mental health issues. He uses his craft to give something meaningful back to people. For me, that’s what music is really about: entertaining, yes, but also healing, connecting, and leaving people better than you found them.
