The newly established digital stream, Zabrij Radio, is seeking volunteers, including residents, artists, hosts, journalists, designers, technicians, selectors, researchers, and promoters. The crew is based in Zagreband the project was born from the idea of a group of young people who wanted to create a community radio station in their city—taking inspiration from other internet radios across Europe that prioritize community and space for emerging artists over profit.
Zabrij Radio was launched earlier this year by young enthusiasts Ivan Čipćić and Kelly Glavinić. They’re currently looking for volunteers—not necessarily professionals, but anyone eager to gain experience and contribute to a platform where everyone is welcome. In addition to volunteers, the radio is also seeking mixes to broadcast. So far, they’ve featured sets from many up-and-coming DJs, including the increasingly popular and award-winning Marcela.
This kind of initiative is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to express themselves artistically or gain experience working in media. Zabrij Radio will soon have a physical space at the Knap Cultural Center, giving interested volunteers the chance to work directly in a studio environment.
