From today until Sunday, Dom mladih becomes the centre of Split’s cultural life. Planet Dom is back for its second edition with a purpose to show what happens when music, art, performance and community share the same space and push the city’s creative boundaries forward.
The festival is built around the idea of progressive, contemporary culture that has shaped the city’s identity for decades. It’s a celebration of everything that grew around Dom mladih – the heart of Split’s independent scene – just before the building enters a new chapter with a planned reconstruction.

The program is created for people who are curious and open – those who want more than a regular concert or club night. On the music side, you’ll hear Konstrakta, Helena Hauff, and London’s Dry Cleaning, along with Argentina’s Blanco Teta, local artist ENIA, and the chess-inspired live show by Karpov not Kasparov. Saturday night also brings a rare chance to catch Egyptian Lover up close in a club setting.
But the real story of Planet Dom is everything that happens beyond the main stages. Over three days there are performative walks, dance pieces, exhibitions, workshops, and audiovisual projects – most of them free and open to anyone who wants to join. The final day slows the pace with kids’ activities, a bazaar, an afternoon Porto Morto DJ set, and a closing selection of experimental films.
Vinyl DJ Workshop
A good example of that community-first approach is the vinyl DJ workshop on Saturday at 6PM in Beton kino. Led by local DJ Ivan Yuri Jurić, it’s designed for kids aged 10 to 16 and dives into the basics of playing records by hand – how to handle vinyl, beatmatch by ear, and get a feel for DJing before everything went digital. It’s free to attend, but places are limited and require a quick sign-up (link to sign-up).
The point isn’t to impress with scale but to create a place where things actually happen – ideas, collaborations, new projects, maybe even future scenes.
