30 YEARS ADE celebration starts today, and the program is richer than ever. With artists including Amelie Lens, Armand Van Helden, Boys Noize, Charlotte Adigéry, KI/KI, Jamie Jones, Job Jobse, Len Faki, Mama Snake, Marie Montexier, Martin Garrix, Mau P, Marlon Hoffstadt, Merve, Pete Tong, Prozak, Saoirse, Scalio, SHERELLE, Speedy J, Surusinghe, and countless others joining the lineup, this year celebrates the many voices who shaped electronic music and continue to do so.
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is a five-day electronic music conference and festival held annually in mid-October. The event, organised by The Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation, offers a full programme of daytime conferences at ADE Pro, ADE Tech, ADE University, ADE Beamlab, ADE Green, ADE Sound Lab and ADE Beats alongside the ADE By Day festival programme and the nighttime ADE Festival, which features over 1,000 events and 2,500 artists over five days in 200 clubs and venues. The most notable event is the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) in the Johan Cruyff Arena on Saturday night. This year it runs from October 21 to October 25, for its landmark 30th anniversary. A number of Croatian artists will be included in this year’s edition. Artists such as DJ Max, Arrakis, the DJ, melodic techno/organic house producer, and label boss—originally from Zagreb—is performing a daytime set for the Big Bells x Audiosolo showcase at Club Baggerbeest, Wekingz, the popular tech-house DJ and producer hailing from Sinj, Out to Sea Events, the boat party promoter and event brand based in Split, hosting a collaborative open-decks and networking showcase alongside Netherlands-based PURAxVIDA House at Margarita’s Bar, Honirika Music, the regional underground collective and imprint traveling to Amsterdam to feature their signature sounds and connect with international labels, Denis Horvat, performing at Supersonic Curates, at The Bulldog Palace, FLOW, playing PURAxVIDA HOUSE x OUT TO SEA DAY 2, at Margarita’s Bar & Kitchen, Chudix, a Croatian DJ and producer based in Amsterdam, whose electronic music centers on groovy, feel-good house informed by jazz, funk, 1980s basslines, and 1990s club sounds. More Croatian names will be featured, such as Dancelectric, MM, DaDoo, Leos, Ines Borovac and Sven Klak, who will be leading a music-production workshop at ADE Lab on 23 October.
