Renaissance man of American music – the title held by the great Quincy Jones. Since entering the industry as an arranger in the early 1950s, he has distinguished himself as a bandleader, solo artist, songwriter, producer, film composer, and discographer. On Wednesday, February 26th, the Homage Collective, a group of respected local musicians, will pay tribute to this great, recently deceased musician at Peti Kupe.

In addition to his own music, Quincy Jones left his biggest mark as a music producer with numerous hits that have already become part of history, such as Give Me The Night, We Are The World and Ai No Corrida. A quick look at a few of the artists he worked with reveals the incredible diversity of his career – Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, George Benson, Lesley Gore, Michael Jackson, Peggy Lee, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin. The entire list of names he has collaborated with seems endless, but his most notable collaboration is with Michael Jackson, for whom he produced several albums and his greatest hits. The album Thriller is still the best-selling in music history.
The tireless Quincy Jones was nominated for a record 80 Grammy Awards, winning 28 of them. In a career spanning almost eight decades, he produced and recorded until his death, three months ago.

From all this abundance of timeless music, Homage Collective will make its selection of the most memorable songs and perform them in new, original arrangements. They will do so with the following line-up: Janko Novoselić, drums / Boris Popov, percussion / Robert Vrbančić, bass / Nikola Šantek, keyboards / Vojkan Jocić, tenor saxophone / Antonio Geček, trumpet / Zvonimir Bajević, trumpet / Hrvoje Štefanić, trombone / Martina Drakulić, violin / Lovro Kovačević, cello / Petar Haluza, viola / Lara Silvestri, violin / Nikola Marjanović, Ivona Šimunić, Kristijan Beluhan, vocals / Davor Doležal, guitar/arrangements.
