SoundCloud has just announced an exciting new feature for independent artists: an on-demand vinyl pressing service. Developed in partnership with elasticStage, a UK-based company specializing in short-run vinyl manufacturing, the service allows musicians to sell physical records without having to invest upfront in bulk production or handle any of the logistics. This service is now available exclusively to SoundCloud’s Artist Pro subscribers.
The process is straightforward and designed to be artist-friendly. Artists begin by joining a waitlist through their Artist Pro account. There are no minimum order requirements, meaning artists do not have to commit to purchasing a specific number of vinyl records in advance.

Once accepted, artists can select tracks directly from their SoundCloud catalog, add track credits, upload custom artwork, and submit their release for review. After approval, the vinyl becomes available for fans to purchase. Each record is manufactured only when a fan places an order, which eliminates overproduction and storage costs.
Importantly, the entire process—manufacturing, packaging, shipping, and even customer support—is handled by elasticStage. This frees artists from having to coordinate logistics, manage inventory, or ship items themselves. Records can be shipped to fans in nearly 100 countries, offering global reach right from day one.
The return of vinyl
The resurgence of vinyl has been one of the biggest trends in the music industry in recent years. Global vinyl sales have increased by more than 300% since 2016; however, SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton pointed out that many independent artists have found themselves excluded from this boom due to high costs, complex logistics, and the need for bulk orders.

SoundCloud’s new service aims to change that by removing the financial and logistical barriers that have traditionally prevented smaller artists from releasing their music on vinyl. The platform now offers a risk-free way for artists to test the physical music market, build stronger fan connections, and generate additional revenue.
“Our mission is to break down these barriers so musicians can sell vinyl with zero cost or risk.”, concluded Steve Rhodes, CEO of elasticStage.
SoundCloud’s new on-demand vinyl pressing service represents a major step forward for independent music distribution. By partnering with elasticStage, SoundCloud is helping artists turn their digital catalog into physical merchandise—something that fans deeply value in the era of streaming. This new service offers a simple, affordable, and globally accessible solution—spinning independent artists’ tracks from the cloud to the turntable.
