If you’re one of those people who live for a weekend getaway and enjoy exploring different corners of Croatia, Mađerkin breg in Međimurje is a destination worth adding to the list. With a glass of local wine, panoramic views stretching across borders, and a soundtrack of house music, it’s the kind of weekend that cannot be easily forgotten.
In June, the Forestland collective brought music to the top of the wooden lookout tower at Mađerkin breg. DJs Happy B and Mr. Mike, both from nearby Slovenia, recorded a set in this unique location. Their performance, running 62 minutes and 29 seconds, opened with Highlight’s Airplane Mode and moved smoothly through some of this summer’s best house tracks.

The view from the tower is something special on its own – on a clear day, you can see as far as Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, and Croatia, with some claiming Slovakia is visible too. With Mr. Mike and Happy B on deck, the scenery and the music came together into one seamless flight.
Just below the lookout, Štampar Winery adds another layer to the experience with local wines from their surrounding vineyards. It’s no wonder Mađerkin breg is becoming a favorite spot for travelers, day-trippers, and anyone who appreciates a mix of nature, culture, and music.
This was Forestland’s second filmed set. Their first took place during the pandemic inside Čakovec’s Old Town – the Zrinski family castle, now home to the Riznica Međimurja museum. Soon, the collective will release their third project: a set with four DJs recorded on a ferry drifting along the Mura River.
