Today we present to you a DJ, selector, vinyl collector, and house music enthusiast, 41-year-old Boris Seili, based in Zagreb.

He developed his love for music in the ’90s, during the era of disco and house. That’s when he shaped his musical taste and outlook, inspired by artists like Louie Vega (MAW), Ron Trent, Vick Lavender, Kerri Chandler, 95 North, and many others who are also the founders of the deep, soulful, disco, and afro house styles defined by rich, deep sounds with a strong emphasis on emotion and introspection.
Alongside his other great passion, gastronomy, he ventured into the world of DJing, which until two years ago was focused exclusively on private events and gigs for a close circle of people connected by their love for the old-school house sound.
This year opened new opportunities on Boris’s musical journey. He had the chance to perform at smaller festivals and bars, took on engagements at Zagreb’s Aquarius, and went on to collaborate with a legend of the Croatian house scene, Tom Bug, at Club Ro & Do. By the end of November, on 29/11 to be precise, he brought all his emotion through old-school deep & soulful sounds to the Garden Taproom with a 5-hour set.
His guestmix featuring house and disco sounds can be found on our YouTube or SoundCloud:
INSITE: If you could have a drink with any DJ/producer, who would it be?
BORIS SEILI: If I had to choose one artist who has the greatest influence on my musical journey today, it would currently be Ron Trent, and I’d gladly have a rakija with him.
Favorite Track?
One track I would highlight right now as an evergreen of house music, even though it was produced and released just a little over a few months ago, is SOUL II SOUL – A Dream’s a Dream (Ron Trent Dub).
