Swedish manufacturer Teenage Engineering has introduced the EP-40 Riddim, described as a “complete rhythm and bass system.” The device functions as a sampler, sequencer and composer, drawing inspiration from sound system culture and following the design direction of the K.O. II released in 2023.

The EP-40 Riddim includes a library of 400 sounds and instruments sourced from notable reggae producers. According to MusicRadar, Teenage Engineering worked with King Jammy and Mad Professor to curate the sound content.
In addition to the sample library, the unit features a subtractive synthesis engine capable of producing classic bass and lead tones, as well as built-in dub sirens. Users can store up to nine editable projects and work with seven main effects plus 12 punch-in™ effects. Connectivity includes stereo in/out, sync in/out, MIDI in/out, and USB-C.
The EP-40 Riddim is priced at €349, with more details available on Teenage Engineering’s official website.
