Carl Cox, —one of the greatest and most influential DJs of all time, made his debut at the spectacular Istrian quarry, extending his set until nearly 6 a.m. for a crowd of over 5,000—culminating in one of the most beautiful sunrises. This was one of the biggest spectacles in the history of BSH Events. Tickets had sold out weeks in advance, and the monumental Roman quarry in Vinkuran once again served as the summer home for BSH Events and a gathering point for the international electronic music scene.
Yakka, Pablo Panda, and DJ Jock provided the musical warm-up for the evening, and a few hours past midnight, the stage was taken over by the man who had drawn fans to Istria from every corner of the world. Behind the decks, Carl Cox once again demonstrated why he has held a special place in the history of electronic music for decades.
Clearly in high spirits, Cox took the microphone several times during his performance to address the crowd, further electrifying the atmosphere in the quarry. The energy between him and the more than 5,000-strong crowd remained high as morning approached, prompting the legendary DJ to extend his set until nearly six o’clock.
Then came a moment that would become one of the summer’s most cherished memories for many. The first rays of sunlight appeared over the monumental cliffs of Cave Romane while Carl Cox was still at the decks and thousands of people kept dancing. It was a breathtaking sunrise for the attendees and the grand finale of one of the biggest spectacles in BSH history.
