For a decade now, the event “Dvorišta” (Courtyards) has been bringing the hidden gems of Zagreb’s Upper Town to life. From July 12th to 23rd, for 12 days, the courtyards of historic palaces will open their gates, transforming into vibrant hubs of entertainment, socializing, discovery, and live music performances.
10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
This year’s theme, “10 Courtyards for 10 Years,” remains partly a mystery, with organisers teasing familiar locations such as the Museum of the City of Zagreb atrium (Opatička 20), the MGZ Archaeological Garden (Opatička 22), and the Zvjezdarnica Courtyard near Popov Tower (Opatička 22).
The newly renovated Tituš Brezovački Grammar School, located in the former Noble Convict, returns to the program with two sites accessible from Jezuitski trg. Additionally, the Croatian Institute of History, with two spaces (Opatička 10 and an entrance from Radićeva Street), joins the lineup.
Dvorišta is known for its magical atmosphere, romance, fun, socializing, and adventure. Described by media and attenders as “the stars, the most fun, beloved, iconic,” as “the best experience in Zagreb.” Music is a cornerstone of the event. This year promises a continuation of this tradition with performances by many talented young singers and musicians.
Each courtyard has its unique, intriguing story waiting to be discovered! Daily programs will be announced a few days in advance on the event’s social media channels.
