Tomica Kanjir, also known as Tom Cannier, was born in Zagreb and currently works as a religion teacher at an elementary school.
From an early age, music became an important part of his life. In high school, he discovered electronic music and was immediately drawn to it. Soon after, he began experimenting with mixing and production using modest equipment. Over the years, he performed at private parties, building nearly two decades of experience that allowed him to explore a wide range of sounds and styles.

During the 2020 lockdown, Tom became active in online communities and charity events, which introduced him to livestreaming. He joined several online DJ groups, mostly based in the UK but with global connections. Some of these communities founded internet radio stations, such as beatsperminuteradio.uk and portsmouthundergroundradio.co.uk, where he remains a resident DJ to this day.
Since restrictions were lifted, Tom has returned to live performances at private events, bars, and pubs. In the summer of 2022, he appeared at Sunset Selections at Aquarius Zagreb.
Tom Cannier does not confine himself to a single style; instead, he focuses on creating engaging sets that blend diverse electronic sounds. His performances are often described as sonic journeys, weaving through house, techno, and beyond, guided by the flow of the moment and the energy of the music.
His guestmix for INSITE is available on our YouTube channel and on SoundCloud:
INSITE: If you could have a drink with any DJ/producer, who would it be?
TOM CANNIER: If i could have a drink with any DJ or producer, that would most likely be Jeff Mills.
Favorite Track?
Asking a DJ for a favourite track is maybe like asking a father for a favourite child, haha, so difficult to say, it depends on the mood, the ambient and the people I am with but… If I have to decide now, let it be Plastic Dreams by Jaydee.
