DaYes (Nenad Stanković) is a DJ from Zagreb whose quest for the perfect track began in the iconic venues of the late ’90s and early 2000s. What started as a passionate listener’s journey, combined with thousands of hours spent mixing, shaped him into a curious selector and a DJ recognized for his bold, fearless mixes.

He takes on gigs rarely, but always with full passion. Over the years, he has played at nearly every key club in Zagreb – Das Haus, SoundFactory, Aquarius, Funk, and Spunk, and left his mark at several festivals, most memorably closing Freemental with a legendary 20-hour set. He is a co-founder of the ADHD event series and currently holds residency at Rejvitalizacija.
You can listen to the guestmix featuring an interesting selection of tracks with a slightly experimental sound on our YouTube channel or on SoundCloud:
INSITE: If you could have a drink with any DJ/producer, who would it be?
DaYes: A German DJ and producer, Basti Grub. Listening to his sets with closed eyes feels like traveling to black-and-white film. I admire him for his musical breadth and the way he approaches both warm, classic remixes and wild, cutting-edge productions with the same passion. We’d probably start with a glass of šljivovica. I’d ask him what his real name is, what he listened to as a teenager, and whether he thinks punk is dead.

Mr Stinson – Melina
The words in this piece are taken from an interview with actress, singer, and politician Melina Mercouri -the first female Greek Minister of Culture and the visionary behind the European Capital of Culture initiative. Her words are a powerful statement on exile and war, still hauntingly relevant today. I especially resonate with this because I love music that is also poetry, where every lyric carries the weight of a story and emotion.
