Next weekend, on January 31, a new Zagreb collective, High Hats, debuts at Lift Club. They will host Ollie Lishman, signed to Hot Meal Records, who will also perform in the capital for the first time. For local support, they called Kali and Pusmus, one of our most recognizable female DJs who surely know how to shake up the floor with their groovy track selections of higher BPMs.
Ollie Lishman is a DJ and Producer hailing from Australia, whose sound is characterized by his dynamic fusion of trance, techno, and iconic grooves. Drawing inspiration from the pulsating beats of 90s techno, hard house, and trance, Ollie’s productions have earned him international recognition from esteemed figures such as Trym, Narciss, Marlon Hoffstadt, and DJ Heartstring. His tracks have become fixtures in the global arena, featured in renowned Boiler Rooms and festivals.
In anticipation of their debut event, we had a chat with the organisers, Mia and Franko, who further explained the whole idea behind High Hats.
“High Hats was born from traveling and actively following the electronic scene abroad, where we experienced a different, fresher club sound and energy firsthand. We wanted to convey the experience and atmosphere that we had abroad and popularize the music that inspired us there. We also noticed that this style of music appeals to a wide range of generations, which gave us additional motivation. We thought that this could be an ideal way to refresh the Zagreb club scene and also expand its audience”, said the High Hats founders.

Moreover, they pointed out their main motivation is love for music, while doing what fulfills them and provides the audience with an authentic club experience based on quality sound, dance, and the sincere energy of togetherness on the dance floor, while respecting the roots of the scene.
Speaking of expectations of their first event, they pointed out that they want to remain realistic, but also optimistic. “We are already receiving very positive feedback, proposals for cooperation and support from various parties, which gives us additional motivation and confirmation that there is interest in this kind of concept. Our main goal is for the audience to feel the energy and idea behind the project and for the first event to lay a solid foundation for the further development of High Hats” they concluded.
Even though they just started, the promoters duo announced their two upcoming events – one on March 4th and another one with the Berlin duo Surf 2 Glory, an all-nighter at Masters Zagreb. “Our dream booking would definitely be Marlon Hoffstadt b2b Malugi at some crazy outdoor location, in an environment that further enhances the energy and experience of the music itself”, they said, revealing their dreams and hopes for the future.
Tickets for their debut event with Ollie Lishman, Kali and Pusmus are available via the Entrio platform.
