Ivan Komlinovic has had an outstanding year, marked by the release of his debut album Hit the Gate, officially published on November 29, 2024, under PDV Records. The eleven tracks on the album are further proof of Komlinovic’s knowledge and experience he gained in his long-lasting career in music.
The promotion for Komlinovic’s first album will take place this Saturday, January 11, at Club DVA OSAM on Jabukovac (Zagreb). The event is also going to feature performances by artists / his friends – Microslav, Luka Tralic Shot, Sessiondigger, and Jan Kincl.
Recently, Komlinovic talked with DVA OSAM for Pozitivan Ritam to share his thoughts and process behind the debut album. He described his album as a personal love letter to his journey as a DJ. He also shared that when selecting collaborators, his first choices were close people – ones he enjoys spending time with and exchanging ideas. The result is a mix of diverse personalities, yet with complementary tastes. The full interview in Croatian is available here.
The album was supported by the Elector Award jury, as its nomination for the best album/compilation of the year has just been announced. Another recognition Komlinovic received was from Mixmag Adria, which included Hit the Gate among the 66 best regional releases of 2024.
For DVA OSAM, Komlinoic added that his plan for the promotion night is to focus on his releases and play his music, while his guests will have the full artistic freedom to showcase what they wish.
