A new book chronicling 35 years of club culture through not before seen photography is set to be published this November.

Mark McNulty’s In Clubland: 35 Summers of Love brings together 550 photographs capturing the evolution of nightlife, fashion, and dance music from 1990 to 2023. The book features cameos from Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers and explores scenes from Italy and Germany, Southport’s soul all-nighters and festivals including Creamfields, with photographs featuring DJs.
The book opens at legendary Liverpool club Quadrant Park before moving through influential venues and club nights including BackIIBasics in Leeds, Berlin’s Tresor, The Hacienda, Cream, The Lakota, Heavenly Social, Garlands, Bugged Out! at Nation, and Club EVOL at EBGB’s.
McNulty began photographing nightclubs, festivals and gigs in the mid-1980s which led him to receieve commissions from The Face and i-D. More than 190 pages of the book are dedicated to photographic reproductions, accompanied by McNulty’s recollections of the people and places documented.
In Clubland: 35 Summers of Love will be published by Modern Sky on 5th November 2026. The hardback edition is limited to 100 copies and includes an exclusive print, while the first-edition softback is limited to 303 copies.
