This September, the coastal town Makarska will host the MASU Festival, a four-day event organized by the Makarska Riviera Student Association, from September 11 to 14. The festival, taking place at the Spomenik revolucije, and is expected to be a vibrant celebration of youth culture, creativity, and community.
The festival will feature a mix of activities designed to engage and inspire young people. The music lineup includes some of Croatia’s popular artists. These performances will be complemented by visual effects created by students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), adding an innovative and immersive dimension to the shows.
Beyond the music, the MASU Festival offers a rich schedule of workshops designed to inspire and educate. One of the festival’s key features is its DJ workshops, where attendees can learn the art of DJing from experienced professionals. These workshops are ideal for budding DJs or anyone interested in the technical and creative aspects of mixing music.
In addition to DJing, the festival will host mural painting workshops. These sessions offer participants a chance to contribute to large-scale artworks that will be displayed around the town, leaving a lasting artistic imprint on Makarska. This initiative not only beautifies the town but also promotes public art as a form of communal expression.
One of the festival’s standout features is its emphasis on the power of collective creativity and community spirit. The organisers have put significant effort into creating an inclusive space where young people can come together to share ideas, express themselves, and build connections. / Makarska Danas
