Music Biennale Zagreb has revealed the program for its 33rd edition. The festival will take place from April 5 to April 12, with a pre-biennale program running from March 20 to April 3.
This year’s theme, inspired by Zagreb’s Museum of Broken Relationships, explores the concept of broken relationships. The program is rich and diverse, and we’ve highlighted some key events for you.

Dokukino KIC | 7 PM – 10 PM
Deep Listening: The Story of Pauline Oliveros – Film Screening
A documentary about composer, performer, teacher, and pioneer of electronic music Pauline Oliveros. She shaped contemporary music for over six decades, exploring sound, listening, and philosophy.

NAE Collective x SNOP – Immersive Audiovisual Performance
NAE Collective joins forces with SNOP to create an immersive experience blending music and space.

- NAE Collective: Tomislav Oliver (live electronics), Vid Veljak (cello), Luis Camacho Montealegre (percussion), Branimir Norac (clarinet), Boy van Ooijen (tech & live electronics), Goran Nježić (visuals).

Hrvoje Hiršl: Dimensions of a Line – Audiovisual Installation
Conceptual artist Hrvoje Hiršl explores quantum optics, using laser beams shaped by sound waves to question our perception of space and technology. Created in collaboration with composer Yongbom Lee and Dr. Neven Šantić.

Peti Kupe | 11 PM – 4 AM
MBZ x ZEZ Late Night: Aïsha Devi / N/OBE / Meka Drina / Anavi
- Aïsha Devi fuses experimental techno with ethereal vocals, drawing from her Nepalese-Tibetan heritage.
- N/OBE presents an A/V performance inspired by Yugoslav monuments, developed with visual artists Ivan Lukušić Liik and Vladimir Crvenković.
- Meka Drina (BiH) blends bass culture with internet folklore.
- Anavi (Šibenik) experiments with textures, percussion, and deep bass.

Nolan Lem: Babbling Brook – Multimedia Installation

Julije Knifer Exhibition – Graphites, Sketches & Acrylics
Julije Knifer (1924–2004) was a Croatian artist known for his signature meander motif, exploring repetition and reduction in black-and-white geometric forms. A key figure in the Gorgona Group, he viewed painting as a process of negation, stripping visuals to their core.
This exhibition features eight graphite drawings from the early 1990s and two acrylic paintings from 2003, highlighting his rigorous minimalist approach and lifelong dedication to abstraction.
