The AKC (Autonomous Cultural Center) Medika in Zagreb, which has been promoting alternative cultural creativity for many years, has just released its packed program for October. Events will take place in their spaces, such as AKC Attack, and include workshops, exhibitions, diverse music performances, and unique gatherings like cooking nights, poetry evenings, and theater performances. They’ve also announced the third edition of their indoor festival, Attack Fest, which will run from October 17th to 19th.
The music program at AKC Attack is always vibrant, and this October features a variety of performers bringing sounds from genres like metal, punk, alt-rock, experimental rock, indie rock, dub, techno, psytrance, and other alternative styles.
Workshops
Medika has also prepared some intriguing and unconventional workshops for its visitors. Among them are a Bicycle Repair Workshop, a Circus Skills Workshop for Kids, a Natural Cosmetics Workshop, a Hybrid Film Production Workshop, and a Trash Film Production Workshop. Additionally, the center welcomes older participants with a Dance and Movement Workshop specially organized for retirees. The diversity of these workshops sparks curiosity and caters to people of all ages and interests.
In addition to workshops and the music program, Medika has also lined up several exciting events for its visitors. These include an exhibition by Vladimir Palibrk, the Performance Teenage Idol exhibition, an Urban Poetry Evening, a cooking night titled People’s Kitchen, the play Working Title: Utopia, and Project 4.28 km/h, a performance by Ratko Bokić. This performance combines the screening of his audio documentary with movement and manipulation of juggling objects, creating a multidimensional experience. On October 19th, Medika will also host an Open Day, giving visitors the chance to explore some of its spaces that are not usually accessible to the public.
With such a wide variety of cultural content, Medika continues to engage and inspire its diverse audience. If you’re interested in learning more about these events, visit their website for further details.
