Trnava, often referred to as “Little Rome” for its historic churches and rich architectural heritage, is one of Slovakia’s oldest cities. Alongside its medieval charm, it has developed a vibrant cultural life, with institutions like the Ján Koniarek Gallery and Malý Berlín at its core. Regular exhibitions, festivals, and public events contribute to a dynamic atmosphere, making it an inspiring and welcoming setting for artists in residence.
Malý Berlín, a contemporary cultural center in Trnava, Slovakia, has opened applications for its 2025 artist residency, this time exclusively for visual artists from Croatia. The program is run in collaboration with Culture Hub Croatia.

The call is open to artists working in the field of fine arts – including installation, sculpture, painting, or conceptual art – with a focus on larger-scale or interdisciplinary work. The residency will take place in September and October in 2025. The selected artist will also have the opportunity to present their work publicly and connect with the local art scene.
One artist will be selected for a two-month stay in Trnava to develop a new project. The residency includes free accommodation, studio space, a €500 artist fee, and covered production costs. Applications are open until June 30, 2025.
