Amid the rugged cliffs of Biokovo and the lush vegetation of the Makarska Riviera, Syncope presents its debut project – set in collaboration with ANNA x AOB (Anna Runtić & Antonio Ožić-Bašić) – a striking duo that merges live electric violin with DJ performance. Filmed at the historic Kotišina Fortress, the set blends history, nature, and electronic music into a focused piece of audiovisual storytelling.
“We chose this location because we feel it deserves more attention,” says the team. The Great Kaštel of Kotišina, a fortress with deep historical roots, offers more than stunning views. It’s also home to a valuable botanical garden, making it a unique and symbolic backdrop. “We wanted to create a synthesis of history, classical elements, electronics, nature, and the present day.”

While the set doesn’t feature new releases, it does spotlight La Cuedon – ANNA X AOB’s debut original track. Driven by melodic techno and techno energy, the set was curated to resonate with a wider audience. “We carefully selected tracks that are more familiar to the public, with the goal of bringing electronic music – and the sound of the electric violin – closer to listeners who might not usually engage with the genre.”
Behind the scenes, the production is a story of dedication and passion. The Syncope team – made up of Ivan Gracin, David Bučić, Pero Pavlović, Zoran Jonjić, Tibor Završek, Petra Buljubašić Jonjić, Filip Motovunski, and Matko Ožić-Bašić – worked entirely on a volunteer basis.

The filming took place in late January, and since then, postproduction has been a meticulous process. “Over the past few months, Ivan Gracin worked with great attention to detail in postproduction to give viewers the highest possible level of visual and sonic enjoyment.”
And this is only the beginning. The team plans to involve more collaborators in future projects, keeping the spirit of community and mutual support alive. Anna shared: “We’re keeping future locations under wraps for now – some might even be abroad – but everything is still in the planning stages.”
This approach bridges worlds: the old and the new, the organic and the electronic, the intimate and the epic. And through it all, one thing remains constant: authenticity.
