On October 12th, Peti Kupe is hosting the legendary electroclash pioneer The Hacker. Joining him for the night will be Brazilian artist Paty Vapor, Italian DJ Fabrizio Mammarella, and local host Antonio Zuza.
About The Artists
Growing up in Grenoble, France, The Hacker was influenced by a variety of sounds, including futuristic techno from Detroit and iconic bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, and Kraftwerk. He also drew inspiration from italo disco and acid house. Throughout his career, he has used different aliases and has made a lasting impact on electronic music. His music covers a wide range of genres, from EBM (electronic body music) to sci-fi electro and new wave. However, he’s best known for creating the electroclash movement, which blends techno beats with punk and synth-pop elements. His collaboration with Miss Kittin, which led to one of the most famous duos in electronic music, has been especially influential. Since starting in 1996, The Hacker has developed a diverse and impressive discography.
Paty Vapor, originally from Brazil but now based in Berlin, is a versatile artist. She’s a DJ, event producer, and curator, co-founding the women-focused event series Wisdom Tits. A resident DJ at the Sameheads club in Berlin, she performs regularly across Europe and Brazil. Her sets often take listeners back to the 80s, blending EBM, electro, synthpunk, and industrial sounds with wave, Italy disco, and Belgian new beat influences, creating a unique fusion of nostalgic and avant-garde music.
Paty Vapor is also a part of the Slow Motion label collective, which is led by Fabrizio Mammarella. Fabrizio is no stranger to Peti Kupe, having impressed audiences there multiple times before with his music selections and expertise. His career includes a long list of club anthems, remixes, and collaborations, and he’s performed at some of the best clubs around the world. This time, he will be mixing alongside Peti Kupes resident Antonio Zuza in back to back session.
