Since its early days broadcasting DJ sets from a London warehouse, Boiler Room has grown into one of the most influential platforms in global electronic music. Over the years, it has spotlighted underground scenes, amplified local communities, and redefined what it means to perform for a digital audience.
Now, with the launch of Broadcast Lab #12, Boiler Room is once again opening its doors to new ideas – and this time, it’s handing over the stage.
Broadcast Lab is Boiler Room’s open call for artists, curators, collectives, and creators who want to push the boundaries of how music is experienced on screen. It’s not about sending in a set and hoping for airtime. This is about crafting a concept – a full broadcast – from start to finish.
Successful applicants receive up to £10,000 in funding, along with creative, production, and marketing support from Boiler Room’s team. The final projects are professionally produced and broadcast across Boiler Room’s global platforms.
Who Should Apply?
Boiler Room is looking for projects that are ambitious, experimental, and rooted in community. That could mean a DIY rave in an unexpected location, a collaboration between musicians and visual artists, or a concept that brings marginalised voices to the forefront. The format is open: DJ sets, live performances, installations, audiovisual hybrids – all are welcome, as long as they’re designed with the camera in mind.
What matters most is storytelling, intention, and execution.
Why It Matters
In the past, Broadcast Lab has helped launch forward-thinking projects from Lagos, Kyiv, New York, and beyond. It’s been a space where underrepresented scenes get global exposure, and where ideas that wouldn’t fit traditional formats can come to life.
With Broadcast Lab #12, Boiler Room continues to invest in the culture it helped shape, handing over the tools and letting others direct the frame.
How to Get Involved
Applications are open now via Boiler Room’s website. You’ll need a clear concept, an idea of how it will be executed, and a sense of why it matters, both to you and to the wider audience. You don’t need a big crew or a famous name. You need vision.
Applications close on August 11th, 2025. More info and application details are available here, or you can apply here.
