After yesterday tragic news regarding the murder case that took place in the complex of the Autonomus Cultural Center Medika (AKC Medika) in Zagreb, the public and other news platforms began to profile the suspect murderer and talk about the victim.
One of, and maybe the most popular union that are in use of the AKC Medika venues owned by City of Zagreb, AKC Attack, published an official statement on their socials. The translation of the whole announcement is below:
“Following the tragic event in the Medika premises, which, among other associations, collectives and individuals – is also used by the Autonomous Cultural Centre – Attack!, we would first like to express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victim.
The Autonomous Cultural Centre – Attack! will not be conducting any programs in the premises it manages from July 18 to August 15, and all our members are on vacation and outside of Zagreb.
We learned of this news through the media and are shocked by the development of the event, about which we do not have sufficient information.
Accordingly, we would like to deny the allegations from certain media outlets that directly link our association to the tragic event, while confirming that it did not occur in the premises within the former Medika factory complex that our organization manages.
The Autonomous Cultural Centre – Attack! is a place of zero tolerance for violence and we strongly condemn violent conflict resolution.”
As the official investigation is still in progress, with respect for the victim’s family and friends, we will not publish further information about the murder case until the authorities close the case.
