One of the biggest global music sensations is coming to Zagreb’s Bundek Lake this summer on Friday, June 26, as part of the Lollipop organization.
Lollipop has built a reputation for a series of production-heavy open-air events that are also recognized internationally. After impressing audiences last year with Sean Paul’s performance at Jarun, this year they are bringing a global pop sensation – Black Eyed Peas.
“After successfully organizing Sean Paul, our goal was to continue hosting concerts. Considering that Black Eyed Peas are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and that fans have been eagerly awaiting them, we decided to go for them. The process was demanding, with lots of coordination, details, and checks on both sides, which is to be expected for a project of this scale!” said representatives from Lollipop, adding: “For Lollipop, this is a major step forward and proof that local production can operate at a world-class level. Events like this further position Zagreb as a serious concert destination and increase Croatia’s visibility on the international stage!”

Black Eyed Peas are not just one of the most successful bands of the modern era – they are a global cultural phenomenon that has redefined the boundaries of pop music, urban culture, and the mainstream. Since their formation in 1995 in Los Angeles, will.i.am, Apl.de.Ap, and Taboo have relentlessly pushed the limits of sound, style, and message, creating music that simultaneously fills dance floors, radio airwaves, and social consciousness.
Their breakthrough in the early 2000s with the album Elephunk marked a new chapter in pop music history. Hits like “Where Is The Love?” were not only commercial successes but also powerful social statements, positioning Black Eyed Peas as a band with a clear vision and message. They followed up with Monkey Business and The E.N.D., solidifying their status as global superstars with record-breaking sales, sold-out tours, and a string of timeless hits such as “I Gotta Feeling,” “Boom Boom Pow,” and “Meet Me Halfway.”
Over the course of their career, they have won six GRAMMY® Awards, sold more than 35 million albums and 120 million singles, and become the second best-selling artist/group of all time in terms of digital downloads, according to Nielsen. Billboard included them among the most influential acts of the decade, and their historic halftime show at Super Bowl XLV in 2011 further cemented their iconic status. After the peak of their career, the group entered a period of silence during which members focused on solo projects, film, television, humanitarian work, and personal challenges. Taboo’s story is particularly remarkable, he overcame cancer in 2014 and described his return to the stage with Black Eyed Peas as a second chance at life.
“The last time we were this clear was in 1995 when we formed the group,” will.i.am said, adding: “There was space for us. There was a path. We used moments in culture and history to make an impact in 2003 (Elephunk) and 2009 (The E.N.D.). Now we are looking to the future. What is the focus for the next ten years? For us, it’s action with a clear purpose in society.”
Their comeback marked a new, more mature, and creatively bolder phase. The album TRANSLATION confirmed their ability to remain relevant in a completely new musical paradigm, featuring the mega-hit “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life),” which surpassed one billion streams and views, even overtaking the legendary “I Gotta Feeling” on Spotify, and opened the door to a strong Latin and global sound. Collaborations with artists like Shakira, J Balvin, Maluma, Ozuna, David Guetta, and Daddy Yankee have further reinforced their status as a global megagroup.
Today, Black Eyed Peas are a band that connects generations, continents, and cultures. Their concerts are not just performances, they are high-energy, production-heavy, and emotionally charged events that celebrate unity, optimism, and the power of music.
