Some of our readers contacted us today after receiving an email from the Sonus Festival organization informing them that Sonus will not take place this year.
One of the strongest festivals on the Adriatic coast, which for years has brought more than 70 top house and techno performers, including major international stars, informed its fans today that, unfortunately, it will not be able to take place this summer.
„Dear Sonus family, Thank you for your continued support and patience. After exploring all possible options, we have made the difficult decision that Sonus Croatia will not take place in 2026.“ the email reads.
The main reason given is the impossibility of holding the festival on two key stages – Noa Beach Club and Noa Big Beach. The organizers state that their key partner is facing a problem and therefore cannot host the festival in those clubs, which would significantly change the festival experience.
„After exploring all possible options, we have made the difficult decision that Sonus Croatia will not take place in 2026. Due to issues faced by our key partner at the current location, we have lost two important stages (Noa Beach Club and Noa Big Beach). As a result, we are not able to deliver the festival experience and concept we had planned and that you deserve.“
However, they announce an even bigger and better Sonus for next year, but for the first time at a new location that they are not revealing yet; they only hint that it could still be on the Croatian coast.
“We are turning a new page and are already working on something bigger, better and more exciting. The new location is planned for 2027, where we will have the opportunity to further elevate the Sonus experience. Although we do not yet have a confirmed date, we can promise that we are carefully shaping the next chapter of Sonus.“
What we can already say is this: Croatia remains our spiritual home. We will explore more of its beautiful coast, and sea salt, community and our musical ethos remain our main ingredients.
We know these news may disappoint you, but know that we appreciate your long‑standing support and never take it for granted. Your loyalty means everything to us.“
The rest of the message reads as follows: „As for festival tickets for 2027 – as soon as we find our new festival home and a date to open our doors, we will send you all the latest information. We would love for you to come and make our new beginning even more special. We can’t wait to welcome you next year at our new home.“
The organizers confirmed this information to us and announced that they will release the official statement this afternoon.
