The Klubska Kultura Association and the Klubska Scena portal have announced the eighth edition of the prestigious “Ambasador” award for outstanding achievements in electronic music.
The election runs from October 1, 2023 to October 27, 2024. The audience and industry professional awards are given in Croatia and the region (including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia).
Until October 27 at 11:59 p.m., public applications for candidates/projects are open for all scene actors. Applications are possible at this link.
Expert jury members cannot participate in public applications because they simultaneously propose candidates/projects on pre-nomination lists. The jury comprises renowned actors of the electronic music industry, journalists, freelance researchers of the scene, and consists of over 70 experts from Croatia and the region.
Changes in categories
This year, around 30 categories are planned, but the final list will be known after the public applications and nominations of the jury are completed. This year’s edition introduces some changes in the categories in which “New club night” and “New festival” are encouraged, where the threshold has been moved to 1 to 3 years of holding as a condition for nomination. It is important to point out the categories for photographers “Festival Photography” and designers “Graphic Design of the Year“, which will be judged by renowned expert associates. Thus, for the “Festival Photography” category, Marko Obradović Edge will be an expert associate – an award-winning and one of the most famous nightlife photographers in the region. On the other hand, “Graphic Design of the Year in the Region” will be judged by prominent graphic designers Boris Pehar, Dejan Zobenica and Segor Garber.
The audience awards voting will begin with the announcement of nominations on November 5, and will last until November 22, while the industry professionals will vote from November 10. The awards will return on Friday, December 13 at KUC Travno (Zagreb) with a very rich artistic, educational and musical program, followed by an after-party.
Panels are planned for the day after, and details about them will be revealed soon. In addition to presenting the awards themselves, the awarding of the “Ambasador” award is also a gathering of the electronic music industry in Croatia and the region and serves as a platform for networking, exchanging ideas and establishing new collaborations.
