After the sold-out season opening with Marcel Dettmann, resident of the iconic club Berghain, Peti Kupe continues to bring Berlin’s finest producers. Massimiliano Pagliara, the DJ and producer with Italian roots will return to Zagreb on Friday, September 20, as part of the residency of the record label Imogen. Pagliara will share the DJ booth with Space Dimension Controller, a producer from Belfast with an enviable number of releases for established music labels, and the founders of Imogen – Antonio Zuza and Ilija Rudman. Tickets for the event are available via Entrio platform.
“The first time I was very impressed by the beautiful venue, a nice room with really good sound and lighting, the very welcoming staff and an enthusiastic crowd. This time I would love to see more queer people coming to the party and create a proper dance floor where everyone feels comfortable to express themselves”, said Berghain’s resident and added that he is looking forward to play again.
Massimiliano Pagliara completely devoted himself to music – in addition to creating it, his career was also marked by contemporary dance. After he finished studying theater, dance and choreography in Milan, he moved to Berlin where he got to know the city’s techno and nightlife, especially in the renowned club Ostgutu. Pagliara’s interest in electronic music peaked in 2003 when he finally began to passionately engage in DJing and then production. Today he is a resident at Berghain (Panorama bar) where he regularly plays and promotes his musical style, a mix of house, disco, electro and techno.
On Friday, Space Dimension Controller, a producer known for releases for R&S, Ninja Tune, Clone’s Royal Oak, Dekmantel, Hypercolour and Running Back, will share the decks with Pagliara. His musical style will fit perfectly into the weekend lineup as the Northern Irish producer’s playlist features a diverse selection of genres from various time periods, from 80s, disco and house to more recent acid techno and electro.
The residents of Kupe and the owners of the record label Imogen, Ilija Rudman and Antonio Zuza will provide local support to above mentioned producers. After a summer season filled with numerous guest appearances, the duo is preparing new music and club releases.
“Ilija and I are preparing independent releases and some releases that we did under the pseudonym Imogen Soundsystem. All in all, a lot of new music and exciting bookings“, announced Zuza, co-owner of Imogen and Peti Kupe, adding that we can expect new names from the scene and some well-known giants behind the decks at the upcoming events.
Although the event starts at 11:00 p.m., the warm-up starts as early as 6:00 p.m. on the club’s terrace in case of good weather. Belgrade’s DJ Brka and local Delux will be responsible for the good atmosphere, and visitors will be able to enjoy unique cocktails from the famous Zagreb bar Peaches & Cream along with JD Makeitcount’s range of drinks. In addition to good music and superb cocktails, the well-known local brand House of Kiwi will sell its clothing and fashion accessories on the terrace of Peti Kupe. Entrance to the terrace is free, and more information about the event itself can be found on the club’s Facebook page.
