Located within Zagreb’s Centar Kaptol at Nova Ves 17, the Brigada Showroom serves as an experimental space where innovative design solutions are tested and showcased. This multifunctional area other than displaying the agency’s projects also collaborates with creatives to push the boundaries of spatial design.
Brigada Showroom is currently hosting “Boobie Traps,” an innovative exhibition by 26-year-old visual communications designer Tena PezdevÅ¡ek. This collection of rugs and tapestries, on display until March 14, 2025, celebrates the female form by featuring simple, non-sexualized depictions of women’s breasts.
PezdevÅ¡ek’s work challenges social norms, created for the public to embrace and affirm female strength. The exhibition is blending humor with artistic expression to provoke thought and discussion.
Artist and curator Tena PezdevÅ¡ek shared with us: “The idea for the exhibition stemmed from the need for equality and a critical examination of social norms related to the female body. Breasts, which we associate with care and life from birth, have become a taboo. Boobie Traps presents them outside the framework of shame and censorship. Through subtle design, I play with ambiguity and explore the boundary between the visible and the hidden, normalizing what should never have been stigmatized.”
The Boobie Traps project is a result of a collaboration between visual communications designer Tena Pezdevšek and reGalerija, a distinguished company with over fifty years of expertise in handcrafting unique tapestries and rugs. Known for their commitment to traditional craftsmanship and high-quality, natural materials such as wool and linen, reGalerija played an important role in bringing Pezdevšek’s artistic vision to life.
Boobie Traps is open to the public at Brigada Showroom until March 14th. For more information about the project check out their official webpage.
