For the third time in Gorski Kotar county and under the name Cinehill, one of the most popular Croatian film festivals will traditionally take place in the last week of July, this time with the central events in Fužine. This summer’s film program in a green environment is scheduled from July 22 to 27.
“For the last two years, we had a beautiful time in Petehovac, and with the next edition, we are looking for a new beauty in Fužine. It is the realization of the idea with which we started our mountain adventure, that the festival belongs to the entire Gorski Kotar county and it represents its different faces. We want to emphasize the beauty of the landscape in which our audience comes to watch movies together. The idea of our concept is to make it an ideal summer vacation for film lovers,” explains festival director Igor Mirković.
More than a hundred film titles from all over Europe and the world will be on screen in Gorski Kotar this summer, with guests presenting their work. Visitors can expect a full-day program with more than sixty screenings with the center and main event in Fužine, but also special events in Delnice, Lokvo, Moravice, and other places. There will also be a variety of accompanying content, educational workshops, mountain walks, lectures, and concerts, with the possibility of accommodation in the festival camp.
Under the name Motovun Film Festival, this project came to life in 1999 and, as a pioneering venture, laid the foundation for today’s extensive festival scene. Through more than a quarter of a century of existence, it gained an international reputation and the affection of the audience, and it was preserved even after it moved to a new environment with a new name in 2023. Summer events under the clear sky and daily programs in tents will remain the recognizable face of the festival even at the new location.
