Through its creative hub PROSTOR in Split, Culture Hub Croatia (CHC) has for the ninth year been developing the local community through education, culture and creativity, offering spaces for various creative workshops and projects as well as a rich programme. Below is part of the schedule for the rest of January, plus a public call to use their space.

The rest of January at CHC includes a range of interesting creative workshops, exhibitions and events focused on connecting and bringing creators together.
- 12 and 23 January — SHAPED SHAPES
- A pop-up exhibition previously held at Gallery Siva in Zagreb, where Nikica Jurković, Mario Miličić, Damir Sobota and Josipa Tadić will present their artworks. The artists came together on their own initiative to present new work; their common interest is the transformation of shapes in their practice, which is also the exhibition’s title. More about the exhibition here.
- 15 January — Felt fashion accessories workshop
- Led by artist Alma Čače, learn the technique of dry felting wool — a simple and fun method of shaping fibers using special needles. During the workshop you can create your own brooch, hair accessory, earrings or another unique fashion piece. More information here.
- 18 January — Restoration workshop
- Under the expert guidance of a qualified conservator-restorer, learn restoration techniques to preserve old objects and extend their lifespan. More about the workshop here.
- 20 January — Freestyle ceramics
- A ceramics workshop without a set theme, offering total freedom to create unique objects as you wish and exchange ideas. Read more here.
- 22 January — Paper-making workshop
- If you love the smell, colours and textures of paper, join this creative workshop on making recycled paper. More information here.
- 24 January — Knitting workshop
- Intended for playful adults who are encountering knitting for the first time. The idea is to introduce knitting as a slow hobby in a busy everyday life through a two-hour session during which we will start with basic knitting techniques. More here.
- 24, 27 and 31 January — Transferring Cartographies: practices of walking, mapping, and narrative
- This workshop unfolds across two independent sessions and a concluding masterclass, which may be attended separately or as a whole. Sessions focus on walking, observing, writing and image-making. Each session lasts approximately 2–2.5 hours and welcomes a small group (8–10 participants). More about the workshop here.
- 29 January — Epoxy creative workshop
- A creative workshop for making decorative elements from epoxy resin — discover the magic of the process. Participants make earrings, pendants or bookmarks; each attendee will have the chance to design their own piece and take home a unique, handmade item. More about the workshop here.
These are just some of this month’s workshops. If you have ideas or would like to organise similar activities, you can respond to the Open Call for free use of Culture Hub Croatia’s spaces. Information about the open call can be found on their official website or Instagram.
