On Friday, April 24, Peti Kupe becomes the scene of a rare celebration – the club’s co-owner, producer and DJ Antonio Zuza celebrates his 40th birthday, but also an impressive 20 years since he first stood behind the counter and began to shape the city’s soundscape.
This is the culmination of two decades of digging through rare records, building club institutions and an uncompromising love for electronic sound – not only as a selector and owner of the Imogen Recordings label, but also as the author of numerous releases. The night is designed with a dynamic Sound Circuit concept with a counter in the center of the club, where energy constantly flows from one hand to the other. Instead of classic sets, the floor will be ruled by back-to-back synergy. The celebrant will take turns at the counter throughout the night with his long-time friends, collaborators, and comrades from the dance floors.
Names that have defined the domestic and European scene are coming to the birthday party. Zuza’s collaborator Fabrizio Mammarella is an Italian master whose sound has become synonymous with modern Italo-disco, new wave and EBM sound. Ilija Rudman, co-founder of Imogen Recordings and a virtuoso whose production has been traveling from Zagreb clubs to the most respected world labels and clubs for decades. Joining the celebration are Felver, a man who built some of the most important club stories in the country, and Pepi Jogarde, a selector who knows how to turn every night into a hedonistic ritual.
They will all form a rotating circle of musical visionaries who will take us through the sounds of house, disco, techno and everything that Antonio Zuza has built over the past 20 years.
