Program manager, resident, and organizer of the FutureScope, owner of Boogaloo Club, and DJ Anđelko Šipuš, yesterday took to his Facebook profile to share a negative experience in attempting to organize events at Cave Romane for the fourth consecutive year.

Šipušić, better known by his stage name SHIPE, described in a lengthy post the series of obstacles he faced while planning three events scheduled between July 17 and 18 in the Vinkuran municipality. While waiting for the green light from the local administration, he missed the bookings of Boris Brejcha and Carl Cox, suffering certain financial losses as a result:
“Waiting weeks for that green light, Boris Brejcha ended up at Sea Star… I took it as a sign from the universe that this wasn’t meant to happen, accepted it properly, and told my partners – THIS IS THE SIGN TO GO AFTER COX.”
Unfortunately, despite multiple inquiries, Šipušić did not receive confirmation from the municipality, and Carl Cox, as he suggests, ended up booked by another organization:
“We had Carl Cox served to us on a silver platter, with the date 07.08.2026., accepted the terms, and were just waiting for the green light from the officials… We waited for weeks until I learned that Carl Cox had been booked at the same location by another organization.”

Šipušić emphasizes that the missed opportunity was not the only consequence of poor communication by the municipality – he incurred costs for agency commissions and partially paid artist fees, while at the same time being perceived as unprofessional in communications with the agencies:
“We came off as the biggest amateurs on the planet – to the agency we work with and take 15 artists from annually, we explained that the venue was going into reconstruction as we were told and that the dates were on hold, while in parallel other organizers received dates and successfully booked DJs… But that’s not the end – we still have other artists booked, for whom we paid part of the fees and agency commissions.”

He faced these challenges despite FutureScope achieving impressive results over the past three years. In total, the festival has brought approximately 12,700 visitors to Cave Romana, with major acts such as Oxia, Cristian Craken, Guy J, Bajaga, Paul Kalkbrenner, Ben Klock, Richie Hawtin, and Sisters Of Mercy performing.
