As we approach International Women’s Day, we will dedicate our weekly guest mix showcase to female artists this March. Our first guest is Elena Mikac, a new-generation DJ who made it to great stages and lineups in just five years, becoming one of the most popular Croatian female DJs. Her diverse repertoire ranges from house to minimal, deep tech, and techno sound with many subgenres.

She also co-runned Dobar House record label for years, in addition to releasing quality house music, and has organized numerous events, giving the Croatian electronic music industry a significant boost.

Apart from being awarded as the best young selector of 2022 at the Elector Award, winning “The NXT” Award at Ambasador Awards in 2023, performing at the Ultra Europe Resistance closing party, and Telekom Electronic Beats Zagreb, she also showcased her skills at almost all the major Croatian house and techno brands, and venues including Sonus Festival, Sea Star Festival, We Love Sound, Future Scope, Defected Zagreb, BSH, Barbarellas Discotheque, etc. Despite her relatively short but successful career, she had the opportunity to share the decks with several renowned artists, such as Honey Dijon, Riva Starr, Prunk, Dennis Cruz, and many others.
Check out Elena’s sound showcase on our YouTube or through our SoundCloud:
INSITE: If you could have a drink with any DJ/producer, who would it be?
ELENA MIKAC: It might seem like the obvious first choice, but of course – Frankie Knuckles.
Track of the year?
If the question concerns my favorite track from this mix, it’s H Foundation, Hipp-e, Halo – Hear Dis Sound (Original). But if we’re talking about my favorite track in general, it’s Marlena Shaw – Touch Me in the Morning.
