Building upon the success of its first edition, the Sea Sound Festival is returning from July 17 to 20, 2025, once again at Martinska, Šibenik. Festival plans to follow last years program – which separates it from other events in the region.
The festival established itself as one of the few events in the country where both artists and audiences can experience music played on custom-built sound systems. Sea Sound continuing in the same direction, showcasing a mix of genres from the roots of sound system culture to contemporary electronic music. Over four days in Martinska, the program will include concerts, live performances, DJ sets, stage takeovers by local collectives, and performances from both local and international artists.

First Headliners Announced
Channel One Sound System (UK) – Opening the festival on Thursday, July 17, this legendary sound system is led by selector Mikey Dread. Known for their exclusive vinyl selections played on a single turntable, Channel One delivers conscious reggae, exclusive dubplates, and energetic steppas rhythms. Their mission to “break down barriers with reggae music” has made them a staple at London’s Notting Hill Carnival since 1982.
P.A.I.N. (UK) – Performing on Friday, July 18, P.A.I.N. (Propaganda And Information Network) is a seminal punk/ska/reggae band formed in 1995. Respected for their high-energy performances and influential role in the DIY music scene. Since the band no longer tours as extensively as they once did, their live appearances are not to be missed.
Three Sound Systems
Prevara Sound System – originating from Zagreb, emerged from the ruins of Digitron Sound System, also known as the first sound system in the country. The crew, consisting of Kiwi, Lasmo, and Kani, performs under the Prevara name and regularly organizes events called Majestic 23.
Roadtripper Sound System – founded in 2011 by Vedran Šimunec (Little Vex) and Luka Sertić (Roadtripper3000), started as an acoustic reggae/ska project before transitioning to a full sound system. Based in Sisak, Croatia and their calling is to bring musical healing to the dance floor, and to give artists a platform to express themselves. The setup includes six scoops, four kicks, and four mid-top boxes. The crew, now expanded with members San Andrea, Feeks, and Flico, won the 2024 Ambasador Award for best sound system in the region.
Seasplash Sound System – their beginning is tied to the beginning of the Seasplash Festival in 2003 in Štinjan near Pula, Croatia. The system features unique ‘mid scoops’ designed to support both live performances and DJ sets. Other than Seasplash, it has powered events like Outlook, Dimensions, and Slurp!, and currently supports the DVA OSAM club in Zagreb and various festivals at Martinska in Šibenik.
Remarkably, after just one edition, the Sea Sound Festival has been nominated for the Ambasador Award, which honors outstanding contributions to the regional electronic music scene. It shows recognition for the festival’s impact and its dedication to promoting sound system culture in Croatia and region.
