Zagreb’s art and cultural scene is becoming increasingly diverse and vibrant, with art playing a more significant role in the lives of both residents and visitors. Some sources even suggest that Zagreb boasts the highest number of galleries and museums per capita in Europe, highlighting its cultural importance.
This autumn Zagreb’s art scene is set to host the 10th edition of the “Reli po galerijama“ (Gallery Rally) on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 5 PM to 10 PM. This event invites participants to explore 14 different galleries across the city in a single evening.
The Gallery Rally, now in its tenth year, offers a way to engage with art by visiting multiple galleries in one night. Participants can start at Galerija Šira, where maps will be available to guide them through the evening. As they visit each gallery, they can collect stickers to mark their stops. The event wraps up at the pop-up location Galerija Kaptol on Radićeva Street, where those who visit the most galleries by 10 PM will receive a “Cultural Savior” diploma. The evening will also feature some live music.
This year, in addition to printed maps, there is a new interactive web app to help visitors navigate the event. The Rally includes a variety of galleries: Galerija Šira, Galerija Kranjčar, Fotoklub Zagreb, Galerija Ulupuh, Galerija SC, Galerija Karas, Galerija VN, Zen Contemporary Art Gallery, Trotoar Galerija, Galerija Forum, Galerija Art&CeRZe, LEXART Skladište, Galerija Kaptol, and Radionica 32. Each gallery will offer something different, from new exhibitions to extended hours.
The Gallery Rally is free and open to anyone interested. It is an opportunity to see what’s happening in Zagreb’s galleries, meet artists, and spend an evening surrounded by art and culture.
