Van Gogh Alive is the global phenomenon that has already captivated numerous cities around the world, and on November 6 it is coming to Zagreb Fair (Zagrebački velesajam). The exhibition will take place in pavilion 10A and will stay opened until the end of January of 2027. The project was conceived and produced by Grande Experiences, with Outbox serving as the local producer. According to a press release, Van Gogh Alive has so far attracted more than 11 million visitors in over 115 cities worldwide.

The exhibition is based on digital representations of Van Gogh’s art. More than 3,000 paintings and other visuals are projected onto large surfaces, accompanied by music and scents. Enlarged projections allow visitors to observe the colors and details of his works, while photographs and videos offer insight into the artist’s life and sources of inspiration.
The Zagreb exhibition will be complemented by Finding Vincent SVR, a virtual reality experience in which multiple visitors explore the same digital space simultaneously. The story follows Theo van Gogh as he searches for his brother Vincent. Participants navigate the virtual world, encounter characters, and interact with objects and artworks. The project combines depictions of the artist’s life and works with storytelling. According to the announcement for the Zagreb edition, the reconstructed locations will include the streets of 19th-century Montmartre in Paris, the Night Café in Arles, Vincent’s bedroom, and the institution in Saint-Rémy where he stayed.

Tickets for the exhibition are available via Entrio and can only be purchased for a specific day and time. For more information click the link. Rob Kirk, the director of exhibitions at Grande Experiences, said that the program is intended for both audiences already familiar with Van Gogh’s work and those encountering it for the first time.
