Carl Cox has released the recorded set from his August performance at Cave Romane in Vinkuran, Croatia, giving fans a chance to relive one of this summer’s electronic music moments in Croatia.
The legendary DJ took over the ancient Istrian quarry on 7 August as part of BSH Events’ summer season, performing to more than 5,000 people. What was scheduled as a headline set stretched towards six in the morning, with Cox still behind the decks as the first sunlight appeared over the quarry’s towering stone walls.
The newly shared recording captures the extended energy of the night, with Cox moving between driving techno, house and acid-tinged grooves in the long-form style that has defined his career. The setting itself became an integral part of the experience, with Cave Romane’s monumental limestone walls providing a striking backdrop for the music and production.
Cox’s first-ever appearance at Cave Romane was one of BSH’s biggest events to date, attracting an international crowd to one of Croatia’s most distinctive electronic music venues. Now, with the full set available online, that sunrise moment can be experienced all over again.
