Tucked away on Croatia’s Ugljan Island, just a short ferry ride from Zadar, Flows Festival isn’t trying to compete with Europe’s major electronic giants and that’s precisely the point. Now in its third edition, this boutique event is built on intimacy, intention, and atmosphere.
The festival offers a mix of electronic music and holistic practices. This year’s edition, held from June 11 to 15, featured artists like Roy Rosenfeld, Peter Makto, Kork, Aklea Neon, Unai Garcia, and Eve K. Among the local names, the Atlantida crew – Einfakinn, Viktor, and Turk – stood out as a natural fit. Their sound aligned well with the festival’s focus on melodic and progressive house. There are no overlapping stages or overcrowded dancefloors. Each set has room to breathe.
Days begin with activities like yoga, breathwork, or movement sessions. Workshops on shadow-work, art meditation, or ecstatic dance follow. Music programming picks up in the evening and carries into the night – everything is scheduled to flow.
The audience is international but small. And since the capacity is limited, the festival does not position itself as a spectacle but as a gathering of like minded people. Most come for a slower pace and a sense of community. It requires intention, both to reach and to take part in.
While wellness and spirituality are part of the offer, they’re not presented as trends. They are part of the schedule, same as a DJ set. Participation is optional, but encouraged. The idea behind Flows Festival is to create a space where each person can tune into their own flow / rhythm – whatever that may be in the moment.
