DJ, producer and founder of Dobar House label and event brand, Tom Bug is launching a DJ Mentorship program for anyone who wants to take their DJing and electronic music seriously and develop their own approach to selection and mixing.
The program is designed as individual work in a small and focused format, through which participants go through the basics of DJ technique, beatmatching, phrasing, working with professional equipment, and Rekordbox workflow. However, what is even more important is understanding groove, flow, and dancefloor energy. All of the lessons will be held live in Zagreb.

Unlike classic DJ educations that are often focused exclusively on the technical aspect, this mentorship emphasizes selection, musical identity and developing one’s own taste. The program lasts 6 hours over a period of 2-3 weeks, and is intended for beginners, bedroom DJs, and anyone who wants to take a step beyond YouTube tutorials and get to know a real approach to DJing and clubbing culture.
Mentorship includes:
– Introductory class to learn about equipment and the history of DJ culture
– the basics of DJing and mixing
– beatmatching and transitions
– phrasing and flow
– song selection and search
– rekordbox workflow
– working on professional DJ equipment
– feedback and tips for first performances
– learning on professional DJ players or turntables
