Diskodelikt transformed Peti Kupe into the capital of early house music set within a contemporary club context. This Friday, May 15, Sally C, a Berlin-based DJ and figure synonymous with a “chunky” house sound led a lineup that included the Belgrade-based Nevena Jeremić and event organizer, Elena Mikac.

Although it was a gloomy Friday, the audience arrived excited for this third edition of the popular program, Diskodelikt as early as 11 p.m., and the space continued to fill up throughout the whole night. The DJ booth standing in the crowd brought a whole new dimension to this already special event, because it marked the first ever performance by Sally C in Zagreb. The headliner confirmed her reputation as the queen of the “chunky” sound with her set from this Friday, driven by vintage house, hip house, acid and breakbeat creating a specific restless atmosphere on the dancefloor. The audience danced continuously, making it a successful Zagreb debut for this Berlin icon, Sally C. A great contribution to the Berlin style atmosphere were the dark lights, bursting into flashes of color during key moments such as track transitions, beat drops and DJ changes, making the whole experience feel even more immersive.

The opening act was the Belgrade selector, Nevena Jeremić, who seamlessly warmed up the crowd and shaped the vibe of the evening with her sonic signature that blends soul, disco, boogie and house. She kicked off the event with a lighter and easier atmosphere but by the end of her set she slowly started approaching the Berlin underground energy to make it a smooth blend with the headliner’s set.
“Nevena did a fantastic job opening up the night, and Sally C brought exactly the kind of raw, tough energy I expected. I’ve been wanting to bring Sally to Zagreb for a while now, and she completely delivered, plus, she’s just a lovely, down-to-earth person overall.” said Elena Mikac.

After a long night of dancing, the audience still energetic, welcomed the closing act by the organizer, Elena Mikac with cheers and loud applause, excited to hear her set marked by a blend of house, disco, acid and breakbeat.
“Moving forward, the plan for Diskodelikt is just to keep doing what I’m doing. I’m in no rush; the goal is to keep building the community and the brand slowly and authentically, one floor at a time!” said Elena Mikac about her further plans with Diskodelikt.
The third edition of Diskodelikt kept its promise and proved to be much more than just another club night. Through the dark atmosphere and the lights flashing during relevant moments of the night, a sound unique to the underground and a tireless audience, the event created an authentic Berlin style experience. From the very first track to the final transition, the energy remained high. “I’m very happy with how the night turned out. The atmosphere was fantastic, and that’s always the main goal for me.” concluded Elena Mikac.
