One of the finest tribute projects dedicated to the great Prince is coming to Zagreb this Thursday!
In the world of music, there is only one Prince. These days, we mark the ninth anniversary of the passing of this innovative musician, but his legacy is very much alive. On that occasion, it’s time for Zagreb to finally experience one of the best tributes to an artist whose influence remains immeasurable.
On May 15, Peti Kupe will host one of today’s best projects interpreting Prince’s music. Echoes of Prince is a unique performance by members of the Parisian funk band Echoes Of, whom we recently got to know as part of Kyoto Jazz Massive. Everyone who attended the recent performance of Kyoto Jazz Massive at Peti Kupe knows the kind of energy and quality these top musicians bring.
They started the Echoes Of project nine years ago and continue with their original and popular tributes to funk from the 70s and 80s. With a very successful and phenomenal monthly residency called Funk & The City at the legendary New Morning jazz club in Paris, this band is regularly invited to the South London Soul Train Party and Heideglühen in Berlin. Their extensive experience in live performance and strong reputation in major concert cities is confirmed by their inspired renditions of the music of the great Prince.
With his music, Prince united people and crossed the barriers of the music industry to become one of the most legendary musicians of all time. He was a rare combination of visionary pop conceptualist and musical master who could capture the sounds he imagined. That quality fueled his extraordinary success at the turn of the new millennium. On May 15, Peti Kupe’s audience can enjoy Prince’s hits with a performance by top Parisian musicians.
