Techa is a young DJ from the beautiful island of Korčula in Croatia. From an early age, Techa was surrounded by music – at just 9 years old, he became a member of a brass orchestra, where he learned and continues to play the bass tuba to this day. He later began teaching himself guitar. His love for electronic music was born in 2019 at a local festival, and two years later, he ventured into the world of DJing.
He describes himself as “genre-unburdened,” with a moody musical taste, aiming to blend more complex and unique tracks while avoiding commercial productions. His skills and sets have been heard at Lazareti and Dubina clubs in Dubrovnik. He has performed multiple times at the K.U.M. youth association, The Jungle Club, VHF, and DJIR, bars on Korčula. In Zagreb, on his second address, Techa has played at Club DVA OSAM and regularly performs in the basement of Funk Club. His debut festival performance was at the Elektrochat Festival.
For our weekly guestmix series, Techa has prepared a dynamic mix filled with vocals that builds beautifully all the way to the end, and you can listen to it on our SoundCloud:
INSITE: If you could grad a drink with any DJ/producer who would it be?
Techa: There are a couple of candidates I have in mind, but I would definitely mention tINI. It’s very simple – flawless selection, top-notch technique, feeling, and a complete package from start to finish.
